We installed filtration units at two primary schools near our Ashulia Road site, with a maintenance contract for three years.
Two primary schools within walking distance of our Ashulia Road site now have filtered drinking water. Between them the schools have around 400 students who previously drank from a shared hand pump.
Each school received a filtration unit sized for its roll, a covered collection point, and taps at a height the youngest children can reach without help. Water from both units was tested before handover and the results were given to the head teachers.
The part that matters is the least photogenic: we hold a three-year maintenance contract covering filter replacement and repairs, with a named contact at each school. A filtration unit with no one servicing it is a piece of equipment that stops working in the second year, and there are plenty of those already.
